EANS Funding FAQ's

What are EANS funds?

EANS stands for Emergency Assistance to Non-Public Schools, a federal relief program approved by the Department of Education in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides emergency financial assistance to eligible non-public schools across the country.

Who is eligible for EANS funding?

Your school is eligible for funding if:

  • It’s a nonprofit
  • It’s accredited, licensed, and operating in accordance with state law
  • Was in existence prior to March 13, 2020
  • Has not received a Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loan on or after December 27, 2020

Your elementary or secondary school is only eligible for ARP EANS funds (the latest package) if it enrolls a percentage of students from low-income families and is most impacted by COVID-19.

  • Data that shows a decline in functioning as a result of the pandemic and a need to procure items that will enable a return to functionality

When do EANS funds expire in Florida?

Schools have until 11:59 PM on September 30, 2024, to spend funds. All unspent balances will be returned to the state.
