how does this scale work ?

Asked by: Anonymous
The triple beam balance is used to measure masses, not weight, very precisely. It works on the principle that equal masses will be pulled downwards by gravity with equal force. So, if two equal masses are suspended by a string around a pulley, they balance each other. With the pan empty, move the three sliders on the three beams to their leftmost positions, so that the balance reads zero. Once the balance has been calibrated, place the object to be measured on the pan. If you have additional questions please call us at 1-800-260-2776.

WHEN USING A CONTAINER TO HOLD THE ITEM BEING WEIGHED HOW DO YOU ZERO OUT THE SCALE (TAR)?

Asked by: Marty
This particular balance does not come with a tare beam, so other than subtracting the weight of the container there is no way to tare it. We do sell a model of this balance with a tare beam here: http://bit.ly/2sIiD07. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact our Sales team at 1-800-260-2776.
