Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, but... As an Activity Director that works with seniors in a memory care unit, this is a great idea. However, I would like to propose that a similar product be made that is more appropriate for seniors. I see this product in many of the nursing home supply catalogs for activities. However, I would LOVE to see a brown plastic board (resembling a piece of wood) and gray screws (that resemble actual bolts). This gives a more realistic look for senior adults. My 4 year old son has this item as well and he loves it. It works great to strengthen find motor, color recognition, pattern recognition and so many more teaching moments for kids.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Many Dissapointments First of all, no where on the box does it imply batteries are needed, supplied or what kind if so. You have to wait until you are home, have opened it, your child be excited, just to explain "sorry honey there are no batteries we will have to wait till the next time we go to the store", LAME!!! ;( My other massive complaint is that the clasp if you want to call it that, on the top that is SUPPOSED to hold the thing together does no such thing! LAME!! It is two weak and poorly designed to hold the case closed pops off every single time! Too much stress!!!! Good thought, poorly executed!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Concept/Poor Quality My two-year-old received this as a gift for Christmas and enjoyed it from the start. Even his five-year-old sister enjoyed using it to make the designs included in the package. However, reverse on the drill never worked and now, after six months, the drill has stopped working all together, rendering the product practically useless. Quite disappointing for an activity I had great hopes for being one that my son would really enjoy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great gift for my kids with some drawbac My kids love this and fought over their cousin's - We got it as a gift from their grandmother. Once we got it home and got it opened though, we found that the screw to open the bottom of the drill did not re-screw into the threads with batteries in it. So now we have the bottom of the gun taped shut and we have to retape it every couple of hours. It's a huge pain but the kids like it in general.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for busy fingers. Our 5 year old son loves all of the Design & Drill products and this most recent addition has been the best yet. We love the carry case that has room for all the tools, bolts and board. Love the combinations of power and manual tools and the new bolt styles with fun designs. We have been using the toy to practice patterns which is something his preschool teacher had suggested and he prefers the pattern practice on this toy rather than coloring work sheets. He also likes that he power tools are in a case just like daddy's are. I can see where he will be using this toy long term.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 in one We just got it. So fare everything works good. In fact we made up several educational games out of it. I set up five colors, took one away and kids had to guess which one is missing. To make it harder, make a pattern, take away one, or two colors, they have to guess which one is missing. We mixed all bolts together and I gave each child their own color and they had to pick bolts of the color they got from me. The one who picked first say DONE and if there are no more bolts of his color, he wins. We played tic tac toe. One game I have in mind is to play sequence. You may have up to 4 players in it. And of course you make a pattern and your child continues it. So many games. I just want to help parents to find a good use of this game. Someone who is very smart invented it and now our kids enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great teaching tool for babies too!! I received this product as a prize from a giveaway a while back, and have had great success using it with my preschooler. However, I am now having even more fun using the bean bags with my 14 month old baby boy. The bean bags are colorful and durable and are perfect for my little one to grasp, throw, and explore. While he is playing with them we talk about the pictures on each of the bags to help develop his vocabulary, phonemic awareness, and communication skills. He loves this activity and they are now permanently housed in one of his toy bins for future play and discovery.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best drill set we've owned My almost three year old LOVES this drill set. His 5 year old sister likes to create some of the patterns in the book provided, and he does more free play with them. The different shapes and colors are great for creativity building. The carrying case is a little hard to fit everything in, I suppose because it has so much goodness crammed inside, so clean up requires adult help. While this is a favorite toy at home, we bring this out to places where we will be waiting for a while. The kids can dump everything out, and the pieces are big enough that we don't lose anything.
