Fine motor skills involve the muscles found in the fingers, hands and wrists. As children grow, developing these skills is ongoing which is why having toys in a preschool classroom that promote dexterity are important. Some examples of toys that build these muscles are buttons, snaps, beads, tweezers and pegs. Through play, children strengthen their fine motor skills.
