Bulletin boards run the gamut in terms of design and functionality from size, material, framing and style. How a bulletin board will be used helps determine what features are needed. Wall-mount bulletin boards can be placed near doors so students can quickly be reminded of important dates, classroom policies and other information. Mobile bulletin boards provide more flexibility as they can be shared between classrooms or used during special events. Many times bulletin boards are also referred to as cork boards or tack boards. This is due to the different types of material that can be used to make them like rubber, vinyl, fabric and cork. All easily accept tacks, push pins and staples and still retain their appearance. If a custom board is preferred, choose un-cut cork rolls. Cork is also a great sound absorber which is in a music and choir classroom can be a great benefit.
