BUYING GUIDE
Learn the best ways to make lunchtime a breeze for both staff and your hungry students.

Cafeteria tables come in several configurations to support different room layouts and student needs. Tables with attached benches maximize seating capacity and make efficient use of floor space, while attached stools provide students with more personal space and allow for easier entry and exit. For multipurpose cafeterias, tables without attached seating offer the greatest flexibility by allowing chairs to be added, removed, and rearranged as needed.
The materials and construction of a cafeteria table play a major role in its longevity and ease of maintenance. Particleboard tops are lightweight and easy to move, while plywood offers greater durability and resistance to heavy use. For edge protection, vinyl molding and spray-on epoxy help prevent chipping, moisture damage, and food buildup. Safety features such as anti-tip mechanisms, locking casters, torsion bars, and secure storage latches help protect students and staff while making tables easier to transport and store.
Choose table heights appropriate for the age group. Standard models are typically 29" high while lower-height options are available for younger students.
Chrome frames offer superior resistance to chipping and scratching, while powder-coated frames provide a durable, cost-effective alternative.
High-pressure laminate surfaces and heavy-duty casters make cleaning and room reconfiguration faster and easier.

Features to Consider

Product Types
This style of cafeteria table has attached bench seating in a variety of configurations. It allows students to sit as close together or as far apart as the occasion demands. Look for multiple points of entry to allow students to get in and out of their seats easily. Heavy-duty locking casters allow for easy rearranging and maneuverability when cleaning.
Stools that are attached to the cafeteria table are easy for students to get in and out of. This type of seating works well for individuals and provides plenty of personal space. Stool seating also works well if you know exactly how many students you'll have seated. Plus, stools are available in multiple colors to match your school’s colors.
Mobile Cafeteria Tables without Attached Seats
If your cafeteria is used as a multi-purpose space, mobile tables can make the transition between activities faster and easier. Wheels also help with cleaning as the floor can be more readily accessed. For safety, wheels can be locked in place to prevent accidental movement while students get in and out of their seats.
Convertible Bench Cafeteria Tables
A convertible bench cafeteria table can function as a single-sided table, a bench with a back or a full-sized cafeteria table when connected to another convertible bench table. A great choice where cafeteria space is limited or there’s a routine need for flexibility.
Folding Bench Cafeteria Tables
This style of cafeteria table provides bench style seating for a rectangular shaped table. Each of the benches fold up for easy cleaning underneath and can be removed to accommodate those in wheelchairs. This cafeteria table folds up flat to help minimize its storage footprint.
Booth and cluster seating is great for cafés, common areas, banquette halls and more. Booth seating is comfortable, colorful and available in easy-to-clean materials like vinyl or polyurethane. However, it is generally not as versatile as mobile or convertible cafeteria tables.
