The Education Market Association awarded Tom Brennan, president of School Outfitters, the 2021 David McCurrach Distinguished Service Award during the Plenary Session at EDspaces on November 3. Tom was nominated and selected by the EDmarket Nominating Committee for his outstanding dedication to the industry and association.
Tom was Chair of the Board from 2018-2020 and instrumental in shifting the strategic direction of the association from an industry trade group to an organization representing all the key stakeholders involved in equipping students for success.
“I can think of no one more deserving than Tom to receive the association’s highest award,” says Jim McGarry, EDmarket President/CEO. “He is a true visionary with a passion for focusing industry efforts on what is best for students and teachers.”
The David McCurrach Distinguished Service Award was first presented in 1989 in honor of a man who served as Executive Director of the Association from 1952-82. This prestigious award is given annually to an active EDmarket member who has exhibited dedication to the Association or contributed special outstanding services over the years.
